Location
DA NANG, VIETNAM

This year’s conference will be held just outside the vibrant, historical city of Da Nang, based at the InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort.
The commercial and educational centre of Central Vietnam, Da Nang is a perfect mixture of beautiful beaches, bustling port, forested hillsides and historical landmarks. Fun fact: Its present name is generally agreed to be a Vietnamese adaptation of the Cham words da nak, meaning “opening of a large river” and its origins date back to the ancient kingdom of Champa, established in 192 AD.
Boasting the title of the third largest city in Central Vietnam and as one of the country’s most important ports, the city offers plenty to see and do such as the spectacular Dragon Bridge, the Son Tra peninsula – home to the endangered, red-shanked douc langur monkey, the Cham Museum and, nearby, the My Son temple complex – to name a few. Most importantly it is a dream destination for foodies, with a wide range of quality restaurants offering spectacular delicacies. Find out more about the city here.
Da Nang international airport is the third largest airport in Vietnam and it is accessible via direct flights from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Korea. Flying time from Bangkok (the FIDI conference location) is approx. 1 hr 40 mins with several direct flights per day.

Rob Lilwall is a person who, through taking an adventurous attitude to life, has achieved the extraordinary. In the last two decades, he has embarked on expeditions by bicycle and on foot, covering over 80,000 km of the world’s land surface, including across Siberia and the Gobi (in winter), China, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, Australia and Iran. National Geographic have made two television series about his exploits, and he is the author of two books, Cycling Home From Siberia and Walking Home From Mongolia.
As a keynote speaker he has inspired tens of thousands of people around the world, with corporate clients including the likes of Nike, Microsoft, HSBC and Thomson Reuters. In his keynote speeches, Rob tells exciting stories of adventure – such as surviving at -40, getting lost in jungles, and pedalling across Afghanistan. But at the same time, he weaves in powerful reflections about the attitudes he has nurtured in order to thrive amid the fear, the uncertainty and the opportunity which he has faced. These attitudes involve embracing challenge, understanding fear, practicing self-care and having a collaborative mindset – all highly relevant for today’s fast changing and unpredictable business environment. For beyond our IQ, qualifications and experience, it is having the right attitudes – the attitudes of adventure - that can make all the difference.

After competing his Bachelors in Political Science and History he went for an internship with a local moving company where he got trained and learnt various aspects of moving.
