Aires has announced that the company has earned the 2022 Juan Peralta Ecology Award for Outstanding Achievements and Contributions in Sustaining and Protecting the Environment from the Pan American International Movers Association (PAIMA). This is the fourth time Aires has earned this recognition from PAIMA.
“Aires is honoured and excited to receive PAIMA’s Juan Peralta Ecology Award for the fourth time,” said Laura May Carmack, Aires’ Manager, Corporate Compliance & Quality. “This recognition reflects the commitment of Aires and our worldwide partner network towards reduced environmental impacts for a clean and green relocation.”
Aires’ application focused on environmental initiatives that are part of the company’s ISO 14001 registration and sustainability goals. A highlight was the company’s Carbon Cancel program, an initiative to promote sustainable global mobility by reducing both Aires’ and its clients’ carbon footprints. Carbon Cancel calculates the impact of a client’s mobility programme and allows clients to offset that impact through the purchase of carbon offsets.
Additionally recognised environmental initiatives include a paperless document management system and a reforestation programme through PrintReleaf (a certifiable worldwide reforestation project that plants native trees in endangered nature areas where trees have previously been removed).
The award, presented annually during the General Assembly, represents PAIMA’s commitment to ecological awareness and environmental responsibility. It is awarded to the member organisation that best exhibits these qualities through education, commitment, and environmentally-sound business practices.
